OpenSpace CEO Jeevan Kalanithi unveils AI Autolocation and the Visual Intelligence Platform at Waypoint 2025.
In this Waypoint 2025 keynote, OpenSpace co-founder and CEO Jeevan Kalanithi walks through the company's biggest product evolution since its founding: the shift from reality capture to a Visual Intelligence Platform that turns field imagery into real-time insights and integrated workflows for builders.
The headline announcement is AI Autolocation, a Spatial AI breakthrough that delivers real-time indoor positioning to any smartphone on the OpenSpace platform—with no hardware to install. Captures with a 360 camera create a spatial fingerprint of each building that lets workers walk inside and instantly know exactly where they are, the same way GPS works outdoors. AI Autolocation powers the second major launch, OpenSpace Field, which combines indoor positioning with AI VoiceNotes (speak an issue into the phone and the form auto-fills), an AI Search media library tuned for construction terminology, and two-way sync integrations with Procore and Autodesk.
The keynote also covers OpenSpace's scale milestones for 2025—350,000 users, 52 billion square feet of project data captured, and more than $1 trillion in projects managed on the platform—along with FedRAMP authorization and a partnership with insurance carrier Shepherd that gives OpenSpace customers measurable premium discounts, based on 41% fewer claims among builders who use the platform.
Kalanithi closes with a new construction tech stack thesis—PM system, ERP, and field system of work—positioning OpenSpace as the front end for construction and the data flywheel that compounds in value the more it's used.
