This video shows the process of repairing a Mercedes differential in a Pakistani workshop using manual mechanics. The initial steps include disassembling the axle, removing the drive shaft, brake drum, ring gear, and internal differential components. The axle housing and gears are then washed with degreasing oil to remove old oil, scale, and metal debris.
The Pakistani worker then installs the new gear, reassembling the center shaft, bearings, shims, and all differential components to ensure precise gear clearances. Socket wrenches and ring spanners are used to loosen and tighten bolts, a jack is used to lift the vehicle, and a drill is used to securely tighten the wheel bolts. This process demonstrates the skill of a Pakistani mechanic repair shop, particularly in the axle, wheelbase, and power transmission systems.
