A couple of our favourite design trends this year:
Statement Stone: We're bringing this into as many spaces as we can, using marble slabs, mosaics and manufactured stone that looks natural. Making a statement this year isn't exactly a trend, but it is something we are loving and using more in our designs and stone selections.
Nostalgia: With a nod to sustainability and for those who love to vintage shop and create layers in your space with historical elements, this trend is for you! We are sourcing vintage for kitchen islands, adding in millwork using reclaimed wood, and one our #MPD signatures, sourcing and repurposing vintage lighting. Everything from patterned wall paper to the reclaimed wood tines, this is a trend we are loving.
Moody Paint Colours: It's all about creating cozy, dark, moody spaces this year - whether it's in your kitchen, your office, your bedroom. We are using our Historical Collection from Benjamin Moore and going into the deeper colourways. Don't be shy about adding in lots of layers and avoiding anything and everything white!
Darker Wood Tones: Although we are still loving the lighter sealed oak colours, this is a trend we are using more as a classic and it's a shift back to darker wood tones. Everything from flooring to cabinetry, it is all moody and dark. From hickory to dark stained oak, we have to say walnut is still our favourite, although a softer wood, for adding in a darker wood tone to a space.
