In this video, I share the post-install setup of a Linux laptop I configured for my daughter using Zorin OS Education.
I explain why I chose this distro, cover the basic system specs, and walk through the apps and educational tools we installed — both locally and online. I also show how we locked down the browser using the free version of BlockSite (set to whitelist mode for three safe learning websites).
Toward the end, I briefly cover a few extra tools we added to the system: FreeTube (a safe, ad-free YouTube alternative) and RustDesk (for remote access and support when needed).
Disclaimer: I’m not a pro — just a parent learning in public and documenting what works for our setup.
