Vulnerability scanning automatically scans images when they are pushed to the registry for known security vulnerabilities and exposures. As new vulnerabilities are discovered, it checks if they affect images that are in Container Registry or Artifact Registry. Scanning is provided by the Container Scanning API and coverage is currently limited to Alpine, CentOS, Debian, RedHat, and Ubuntu based images
