Many an Architect and CTO has become nervous about the cost and complexity of a solution the moment the words Enterprise Service Bus are uttered. Certainly the major software platforms will be happy to bill you very large amounts of money for their solutions in this space. But in reality, this powerful pattern can be achieved with very little overhead and cost, if you simply turn your eyes towards the Open Source Software community. This talk will introduce the concepts behind an Enterprise Service Bus, and then setup a system in code and get it running all within the course of your lunch hour.
