Inside them is a singularity, a point of infinite density, surrounded by an event horizon, a boundary beyond which there is no return.
💥What is a quasar?
A quasar is an active galactic nucleus that contains a supermassive black hole. However, it doesn't just sit alone in space - an accretion disk of gas and dust forms around it, which gradually falls into the black hole. At the same time, the matter accelerates to enormous speeds, heats up and begins to glow brightly, emitting a colossal amount of energy.
A quasar is an extremely bright object observed at large cosmological distances.
