Legal vs. illegal immigrants and priorities
It’s striking how illegal immigrants seem to matter more to many Democrats than legal, skilled ones.
Under Biden (and beyond), countless international students paid tens of thousands in tuition—keeping universities afloat, professors employed, and staff paid, especially during the pandemic when schools were hit hardest. After years of contributing, gaining skills, and assimilating into American society, they face the H-1B lottery after just one year of OPT. Roughly 75% get rejected and are forced to leave.
Where was the outrage? No rallies, no protests, no one "taking a bullet" for these law-abiding, high-skill contributors.
Yet when it comes to undocumented individuals who broke the law to enter—some involved in scams or crimes—many on the left are suddenly willing to risk everything, even violence, to defend them.
Why the double standard? Priorities speak volumes.
