Camelot! A successful strategy game for decades, now all but forgotten.
Brought to market in 1930, this was actually a second-generation of an earlier game called Chivalry. Called one of the greatest strategy games of all time, it not only faded from public favor, even it's 1980s come-back didn't last long.
Each player is on a field of squares with foot-soldiers and knights, each with their own move-and-capture capabilities. But capturing is but the means to the players' objectives. They are striving to occupy the opponent's two castle squares to win the game.
It is a good game, and lasted decades as the strategy-game star of the Parker Brothers catalog. There are still fans of the game today.
