Homemade Bread
A warm slice of bread, soft butter, with raspberry jam... it's something incredible, so simple and so delicious... remember... just like childhood...
For a large loaf, you'll need:
600 grams of flour
400 ml of warm water
5 grams of yeast (I used dry yeast)
1 teaspoon of salt (level)
1 tablespoon of sugar
40 ml of vegetable oil
Mix the warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl and add the flour. Knead the dough, gradually adding the butter. Next, knead the dough for 10-15 minutes; it will become elastic and soft. Grease a bowl and form a ball. Place it in the bowl, cover with plastic wrap and a towel, and set it in a warm place for 45 minutes. It may take a little longer depending on the temperature.
The dough will rise well; punch it down and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a bread pan. If you don't have one, simply place it in a greased bowl.
Let the dough rest a bit longer and rise, about 30 minutes.
Then bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for 45 minutes. I baked my bread in a cauldron, covered.
10 minutes before the end of the cooking time, remove the lid and reduce the temperature to 170 degrees Celsius to create a golden brown crust.
And that aroma... it's beyond words... you just have to try it...
