In this Part 1 hardware repair guide for Realme 5 Pro, we’ll show you how to fix common network-related issues, including:

No SIM detected

Emergency calls only

No signal or dropped network

These problems are often caused by a damaged SIM socket, broken network lines, loose antenna connections, or corrupted signal filters.

This video focuses on SIM card detection, voltage testing, and basic line repair. Ideal for mobile repair technicians and learners. Part 2 will cover RF and Baseband IC repair.

🧰 Tools Required:
Multimeter

Soldering Iron

Hot Air Gun

Disconnect the battery before working.

Unscrew and remove the motherboard shield.

Locate and inspect the SIM socket area.

Clean the SIM slot using IPA and soft brush.

Check SIM pins for corrosion or bend damage.

Use multimeter to test SIM VCC (should read ~1.8–2.8V).

Test the SIM detect pin — verify continuity to CPU.

Check CLK, DATA, and RST lines with multimeter.

Inspect tiny filters or capacitors around SIM connector.

Replace any faulty or shorted component.

If a line is broken, use jumper wire to rebuild the trace.

Desolder and replace SIM socket if pins are damaged.

Use solder flux and microscope for clean installation.

Clean the entire SIM area after soldering.

Insert a working test SIM.

Reconnect battery and power on the device.

Check for “SIM Card Inserted” message.

If SIM is detected but no signal, inspect antenna port.

Clean and reconnect the antenna connector at sub-board.

Use multimeter to check antenna path continuity.

Perform manual network search.

Toggle Airplane mode ON and OFF to force network reset.

Insert a different SIM to isolate board vs. SIM issue.

If signal appears briefly then drops, suspect RF area (Part 2).
