Too Sticky for My Liking
The ALLEVEN Sublime Cream caught me off guard upon arrival due to its small size. The 15ml jar was more reminiscent of an eye cream than a face cream, and at $89, I had extremely high expectations.
I appreciate its ability to hydrate the skin but found it too sticky for my liking. Even when I only used a pea-sized amount, the cream never fully absorbed into my skin. Upon waking each morning, my skin still felt tacky, which rarely happens with my mature skin.
I have trouble recommending this cream on multiple fronts. First, the obvious tactile issues. The per ounce price puts this in the luxury category, which may be fine for someone else’s budget, but not mine given its other shortcomings. Finally, I truly dislike the smell. It smells like a combination of plastic, flowers, and indoor pool water.
Closing Thoughts: Unfortunately, nothing about ALLEVEN’s Sublime Cream appeals to me. There are less expensive and more aesthetically pleasing night cream options on the market, and every cream in my arsenal appeals to me more than this one. I’m thankful to have tested it, but it leaves a lot to be desired unless you have extraordinarily dry skin.
