Inside Coercive Control & Psychological Abuse — “The Lyric Incident” (@RICKYYLAURENN)
Hi, I'm Lauren. I am a survivor of extreme domestic violence.
For seven months, my abuser isolated me in the Nevada desert while subjecting me to severe physical, sexual, and psychological abuse - much of which he documented on video and audio.
I have been using my platform to share what I survived alongside extensive evidence, while I continue to actively fight for justice.
This is raw footage from an incident I refer to as “the lyric incident.”
My abuser regularly gave me assignments and tasks that I was expected to complete under extreme pressure.
On this particular day, he played a song on repeat and required me to write down the lyrics. I had to get at least 85% correct to prove my love for him. He had kept me awake through the night, and by the time of this recording it was around 10am.
What you are about to watch is the interaction that followed.
I hope this footage can serve as an educational record of what coercive and psychological abuse can look like in real time.
My hope is that by sharing, I can help others recognize warning signs - whether that means identifying abusive behavior before becoming deeply involved with someone, or recognizing patterns of abuse they are actively experiencing, gaining clarity about what is happening, and finding the support they need to escape.
📢 My Abuser Still Walks Free
Despite repeated efforts and mountains of evidence, he has not been charged for his crimes against me in Nevada due to the Nye County Sheriff's Office negligence. He is now abusing the court system and has 3 lawsuits against me in an attempt to silence me.
I am actively fighting to hold him criminally accountable, protect others from the ongoing threat he poses, and defend my right to speak the truth.

I delivered this statement in court during his sentencing hearing for a felony protective order violation. He received 30 days in jail and 7 years probation. This is the only consequence he has faced for his crimes, to date.
