Certification plaques collected from final 10 BFHI facilities
All certification plaques collected from institutions certified since 1993
Exception: 4 facilities with 2024 expiration dates will have plaques collected end of 2024:

She's OBGYN (Gumi)
Konkuk University Hospital
Seoul Asan Hospital
Houm OBGYN

Timeline:

1993: First certification - Busan Ilsin Christian Hospital
2002: Ilsin Birthing Center certified
2006: Kim Soon-seon Birthing Center certified
2006: Peak of 58 certified facilities
2015: Last certification - Houm OBGYN (formerly Mediflower)
2020: Down to 15 facilities
Until 2023: 10 facilities remained
(3 certified in 1990s, 7 in 2000s)

Western Pacific BFHI Network includes:

Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong (Korea now excluded)

UNICEF Korea's Child Rights Promotion - "Society Where Children are Happy"
Korea's 24-hour rooming-in rates:

Hospitals: 4.6% (2021)
Postpartum centers: 1.8% (2020)

Breastfeeding is an inalienable right of human infants and children
24-hour rooming-in at hospitals and postpartum centers is
a fundamental children's right under UNICEF's mission
Convention on the Rights of the Child,
especially Article 3 "Best Interests of the Child"
