Install Android 16 Without PC | Full Guide (Using Android Phone)
In this video, I’ll show you step by step how to install Android 16 on your Android phone without using a PC or computer.
We’ll use LineageOS Android 16 GSI ROM and flash it using another Android phone with the help of Bugjaeger.
This method works for Project Treble–supported devices and is perfect if you don’t have access to a computer.
Do this at your own risk. I’m not responsible for any damage or data loss.
• Prerequisites
Unlocked bootloader
Project Treble (GSI) supported device
OTG cable
Secondary Android phone
Backup all important data (this process wipes data)
• Required Apps & Files
🔹 Treble Info App (Check GSI Support) https://play.google.com/store/apps/de...
🔹 Bugjaeger App (ADB & Fastboot Tool) https://play.google.com/store/apps/de...
🔹 Android 16 GSI ROM (LineageOS / Others) https://github.com/phhusson/treble_ex...
🔹 USB OTG Cable
Any OTG cable compatible with your device
Enable Developer Options
Settings → About Phone → Tap Build Number 7 times
Then go to:
Settings → System → Developer Options → Enable USB Debugging
Boot into Fastboot Mode
Power off phone
Press and hold Power + Volume Down
You’ll enter Fastboot Mode
• File Preparation
Transfer downloaded ROM ZIP to the main phone
Extract the ZIP file using any file manager
Keep the extracted .img file ready
• Fastboot Commands (IMPORTANT)
Run these commands in Bugjaeger →
•Fastboot reboot fastboot
•fastboot delete-logical-partition product
•fastboot flash system system.img
(Select your extracted GSI system image)
•fastboot reboot bootloader
•fastboot erase userdata
•fastboot reboot
In recovery:
Go to Factory Reset
Select Format Data / Factory Reset
Confirm
First boot may take 5–10 minutes. Be patient.
Done!
If you see the LineageOS boot animation, congratulations!
You’re now running Android 16
Check it here:
Settings → About Phone → Android Version 16
