Shot Matching Wes Anderson in Lightroom
Shot matching the wildly saturated colors of Wes Anderson's Asteroid City in Adobe Lightroom. Posting the Lightroom settings tomorrow. 📸🎥
This was a lot harder than we expected for two main reasons:
1. Sensor quality and dynamic range: our photo was taken on an old Nikon DSLR back in 2016 and the tech now is far better than the tech then. This mostly involves extra contrast and detail in the sky - his shot was exposed with Steve Carrell facing the sun while my subject is backlit and thus I had an overexposed sky that I needed to save.
2. The pre-shot: A lot of getting the Wes Anderson look can be done before you ever take a photo and that was not planned for when we first took this shot.
