If you’re self-employed in Canada 🍁, sending clear and accurate invoices is a must, both for getting paid and for staying onside with the CRA. In this video, I walk through how to download and use free Canadian invoice templates made specifically for freelancers, independent contractors, and small business owners.
Because sales tax rules vary across Canada, there are two different invoice templates included:
A single-tax invoice for provinces that use GST or HST
A two-tax invoice for provinces that require GST plus PST, RST, or QST
These templates are designed to be simple, professional, and easy to use, while still clearly showing sales tax and totals in a CRA-friendly way. Whether you’re invoicing clients occasionally or every week, having the right invoice format makes your bookkeeping cleaner and tax time much less stressful.
