Under Administration you have to setup bins in your warehouses.
You can have different bins in each warehouse.
You can have a different organization scheme in each warehouse, if you wish.
Most of these items are under the new area - Administration : Setup : Inventory : Bin Locations
Under Bin Locations there are several choices, which becomes essential for people understanding
how to orgazize things.
Overview and How To Use the Bin Location Field Activation
About Warehouse Sublevels - The smallest unit of space in a warehouse. For example, your warehouse
is divided into two wings, each wing has five sections, and each section contains ten shelves where
your goods are stored. In this case, "Wing", "Section" and "Shelf" are warehouse sublevels, and
"Shelf" is the smallest unit of space in the warehouse, which is also the actual bin location.
SAP Business One 9.0 lets you define up to 4 warehouse sublevels.
About Bin Location Attributes - The attributes you maintain for your bin locations. For instance,
they can be the length, width, and height of your bin locations, or they can be whether your bin location stores fragile or frozen goods.
SAP Business One 9.0 lets you define up to 10 bin location attributes.
Bin Location Attribute Codes - Setup Window. Use this window to set up different codes for each bin location attribute.
For example, if one of your bin location attributes is color, you can specify Green, Red and Yellow as the attribute
codes. Later, when you set up a bin location, you can select any of the codes as relevant to the bin location.
Warehouse Sublevel Codes - Setup. Use this window to set up different codes for each warehouse sublevel.
With actual businesses, a big warehouse is often divided into several levels of subunits, and the lowest level of
subunit is the actual bin location where the goods are stored. In order to identify each bin location with a unique code,
SAP Business One 9.0 requires you to use the codes of the warehouse and warehouse sublevels to compose the bin location codes.
Warehouse Sublevel Code Management - Code Manager. Use this area to generate warehouse sublevel codes, once you define your
whole scheme.
The second area where you Manage this bin location data, to start organizing your warehouse is under
inventory. Under Inventory you will see a new section called "Bin Locations".
Bin Location Master Data. Parameters such as "Warehouse", "Sublevel", "Bin Location Properties", "Minimum Quantity", "Maximum Quantity"
"Item Restrictions", "Item Quantity", "Bar Code" and more.
