THE ISSUE HAS BEEN FIXED. OPEN CONSOLE, AND USE snd_mixahead 1 (REMOVE THE 'value'). Thanks to LOS for the fix :)
Hi,
When playing the game I am encountering a crackling/distorted noise for all sound effects/music in the game which renders the game unplayable. Apologies for the bad quality, I rendered the video as low quality as I could in an attempt to get it below 100MB to post on discord forums in seek of guidance (no luck yet lol).
I have had this problem before however after changing snd_mixahead value to 1 it was resolved, however it came back within a month and this fix did not work again.
This problem is not an issue with my headset as I have tried multiple headsets, different audio configurations and also my friends can hear the noise when I live stream it through discord.
Here is what I have tried after searching through the net, with no success:
Changing snd_mixahead value 1 in console
Verifying integrity of game files for CS:GO
Re-installing the game on a different hard drive
Resetting Audio settings inside the game.
Tried all possible different audio configurations within the game
Tried deleting specific config files inside CS:GO
Re-installed DirectX and reinstalled CS:GO in an attempt to find/ fix any corrupted files.
I have contacted steam support however no one was able to help me and I was told to, 'wait for the next update and see if that does anything.'
Please help!! If you have had this issue and found a fix let me know
I should add! CS:GO is the only problem I have this issue with. All other games/videos/music/discord have flawless sound with no crackling/screeching/echoing whatsoever.
