Fox Reporter Blasts Conservatives For Lying About Migrant Caravans
A reporter for Fox News who has been stationed along the Southern Border for months was forced to call out a conservative on social media for spreading lies about a so-called "Cartel Caravan" seen smashing through a border checkpoint. The reporter said that this didn't actually happened, and slammed the conservative for lying in order to get "clicks and likes." Well folks, since it is now officially the year 2024, we know what that means. It's an election year, so we can count on caravan after caravan of migrants heading towards that southern border, right? I mean, we saw it in 2022. We saw it in 2020. We saw it in 2018. It's remarkable that these migrant caravans only show up during election years, but by God, they're already knocking on our door according to conservatives. And it actually took a reporter from Fox News, who has been embedded in Arizona on the border for months and months and months to debunk one of the latest lies that a conservative with 1.4 million followers on Twitter recently posted. Twitter user by the name of Matt Wallace, tweeted this out a couple days ago, he said, oh my God, a massive convoy of cartel trucks just overran a US border patrol checkpoint in Arizona.
And when he posted that, he posted this video, and then Fox News reporter, Bill Mulligan posted this in response. This guy is lying for clicks again. This is not what a border patrol checkpoint looks like, nor is it a CBP port of entry. I've been to or through almost all of them in Arizona. Don't know where, what this is, but it is 100% not the Arizona border. Looks like toll booths in a foreign country. So this Fox News reporter of all people called out this conservative for lying about this alleged cartel caravan just blasting their way through a border checkpoint. The original tweet from the Conservative, again, he's got 1.4 million followers, racked up more than 8,000 retweets before he eventually deleted it. And even though he deleted it after being called out, he still posted, some people are claiming this video is of something else, but if that is true, then how come nobody is saying what else it is of then? To which one user, clever Twitter user, was able to track down the original video.
The original video apparently came from the year 2019, posted to TikTok, excuse me, and it was actually in a completely different country. It was in Columbia. It was not in the United States, and it was four years old at that point. So this conservative had, I guess, seen this video somewhere, probably somebody else labeling it, Arizona. And he thought, hey, let me share it so that I can scaremonger everybody into thinking that the cartel caravans are just blasting through our checkpoints and coming into our country. Didn't bother to fact check it. Didn't bother to do any kind of due diligence. Just probably saw somebody else, a smaller account maybe post it and said, hey, why don't I do that too? Maybe it was in a conservative news article. Who knows where this person got this info? But it took a Fox News reporter and a savvy Twitter user to take down this kind of misinformation.
But again, it's an election year. We will see report after report from conservatives and conservative media outlets telling us that a migrant caravan or a cartel caravan is just right on the horizon. Oh my God. Here they come. Here they come. Here they come. Because we saw it in 2022, 2020 and 2018. None of those caravans, by the way, ever really materialized, right? We saw footage, like we saw people, and then miraculously, all those just disappeared. They just disappeared, right? Get ready because this year is gonna be nonstop, once again, migrant caravans just on the horizon.
