How to make Homopolar Motor || Amazing Science Project
Hi dear friends,
In today's video I am going to show you step by step, how to make a working Homopolar Motor. This is a very simple and easy to make motor. For making the motor only 3 components are required. AA battery, a magnet and a 25 AWG insulated copper wire. I have made the homopolar motor with different shapes of heart, coil, etc.
The homopolar motor was the first electrical motor to be built. Its operation was demonstrated by Michael Faraday in 1821. A homopolar motor is one of the simplest motors built due to the fact that it uses direct current to power the motor in one direction. The magnet’s magnetic field pushes up towards the battery and the current that flows from the battery travels perpendicularly from the magnetic field. This causes the creation of a force perpendicular to both the magnetic field and current. This force, known as the Lorentz force, is exerted on the copper wire (the conductor) causing it to spin.
