B.coli trophozoite
The largest intestinal protozoal parasite that causes an infection called balantidiasis.It is transmitted via fecal-oral route.
signs & symptoms:infects large intestine in humans & produce infective microscopic cysts that are passed in the feces.people with immunocompromised are most likely to experience more severe signs & symptoms which include:persistent diarrhea,dysentery,abdominal pain,weight loss,nausea & vomitting.
The trophozoite was recovered & detected from the stool samples after subjecting it to a simple petri plate culture method designed for stool specimen.
