An interactive grid presents users a set of data in a searchable, customizable report. In an editable interactive grid, users can also add to, modify, and refresh the data set directly on the page. Developers determine whether the underlying data is read-only or editable by users.
As described in "Using Interactive Grids" in Oracle Application Express End User's Guide, users can lock, hide, filter, freeze, highlight, and sort individual columns. Advanced users can also define breaks, aggregations, and computations against columns. Users can also directly customize the appearance of an interactive grid. Users can use the mouse to resize the width of a column and drag and drop columns into different places in the grid.
In an editable interactive grid, users can also add to, modify, and refresh the data set directly on the page. Editable interactive grids expand the functionality of regular interactive grids to enable users to more directly update a grid's structure and contents. Users can add and delete rows, edit cell contents, and refresh the grid with the latest updates.
