GORODSKAYA SHCHEL - freeride route over a waterfall: Kirovsk (Khibiny), moderate difficulty.
Start from the topmost T-bar station on the southern slope. We move along the plateau towards the gorge with the Gorodskaya Shchel waterfall. We pass the upper couloir and end up right at the waterfall. There's a small step down which, in theory, you could scrape your edges off, but it won't be easy. Basically, the whole route is also skiable on a snowboard.
This is a moderate-difficulty freeride route. Avalanche hazard! If the snow is hard, be sure to check the tightness of your bindings! The risk of an accidental release on such slopes is highest.
Arkady Kazakov is a local ski instructor and pro-rider. He trained in piste disciplines as a child, then switched to snowpark and freeskiing, and now competes in freeride. Freeride king Ivan Malakhov considers him one of the best freeskiers in the country. @kazakovski
