Nagesh Kukunoor has charmed the Indian audience over the last decade with movies like Hyderabad Blues, Iqbal, Dor among others. His understanding and familiarity with the changing values and aspirations in the Indian heartland made him the obvious choice for directing this film. Sapnon ki Udaan is majorly being shot on the pristine dunes of Dabri Village, 90 kilometers from Jodhpur in Rajasthan, followed by some parts in Mumbai. Instead of creating a set somewhere in the studio, an entire village was set up in Dabri, Rajasthan to capture the real essence and strife of villagers. Shot majorly in Rajasthan with a dedicated team to work on the special effects of the movie, Sapnon ki Udaan unveils India's coming of age by giving its audience the best of both the world. The Cinematographer for the movie was Chirantan Das who is known for his work in movies like Tanu Weds Manu, Dus Kahaniyaan, Mumbai Cutting, Laksmi and Mod among others. The song 'Chali re doli' is sung by Divya Kumar who has sung popular Bollywood songs like Maston ka Jhund from the movie Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Aafaton ke Parinde from the movie Izhaqzaade, Chanchal Mann from the movie Shudh Desi Romance and the official Crickeet World Cup Theme song De Ghumake withShankar Esaan Loy. The music is composed by one of the youngest music director Ronit Chaterji, who is known for his composition in the movie Love you to Death directed by Rafeeq Ellias The sound engineer Gajju Bhama for Sapnon ki Udaan was also the sound engineer for the movie London, Paris, New York.
