Quick Tip:
If your C drive and D drive exist on different disks, and the disk lacks free space, the best choice is to purchase a new larger disk and follow this video guide to clone all your data to it.
Preparations:
1. Third-party Disk Manager (we'll be using EaseUS Partition Master)
Move Space From D Drive to C Drive:
Step 1. Right-click on D drive, and choose Resize and Move.
Step 2. Drag the little icon and move it to reduce the partition size of D drive.
Step 3. Select C drive and same, drag the icon to let all unallocated space be added to your C.
Step 4. Click "OK" and execute the task.
This process may require a reboot. Just wait a couple of minutes and let it do its job. After that, your C drive will be free again.
Another Option: Merge C and D Drive
Besides resize the volume, this tool also allows you to combine C and D drive via its Merge feature. But I personally not recommend this since it's better to separate the system files from your personal data to avoid unexpected system failure and data loss.
Why Your C Drive Space Is Running Low
1. Files in the recycle bin take up space. So you should clean your Recycle bin regularly.
2. The system restore setting will reduce the C drive's space; you can disable it if not necessary.
3. If the page file is stored in C drive, it may make the computer's virtual memory reaches a certain limit. You can transfer the page files to another disk with the guide here.

4. Too many temporary files. You can use the Windows built-in Disk Cleanup utility to clean up junk files.
5. Software is installed on C drive will definitely consume the storage space. So, install your applications outside of C drive, such as to the D drive.
