My cat, Marsik, usually eats prepared food in small bags, so on December 30th, he ate only food from Sheba bags. December 31st was a very busy day for me, preparing the New Year's table, and by the evening, I realized something was wrong with my cat. On January 1st, I began treating Marsik for diarrhea myself, giving him Vetom, just a tiny bit. He didn't get any better.
Veterinary clinics were closed on January 1st and 2nd. On the morning of January 3rd, I took him to the vet. The vets examined Marsik and gave him four injections.
When I asked what was wrong with my cat, they said it was probably poisoning. He didn't vomit, but he had loose stools and diarrhea. After three days of treatment, he improved, but I won't be buying the food he ate anymore, even though all the bags are labeled until 2023.
The cat is much better now: he's eating well and playing. Treatment for poisoning and medications should be prescribed by a veterinarian. Self-medication and incorrect diagnosis of the cause of poisoning can lead to the death of the animal. When your cat is unwell, take it to the vet.
