Minoru Miki was a Japanese composer. Born in 1930, he created his pieces in a new approach to traditional instruments. In 1964 he co-founded the group Pro Musica Nipponia, with some works featuring Western instruments, such as the "Symphony for two worlds" (Sinfonie für zwei Welten), commissioned by the Leipzig Gewandhaus.
