Realtime microphone noise reduction, Jack, Carla, reafir, OBS, solved?
I thought i would share with you my quest for free realtime noise reduction.
You may or may not be aware of reafir noise reduction vst.
I have tens of thousands of hours using it in windows with morphvox pro.
Recently I have switched to mint cinnamon 20 and was desperately looking for similar functionality.
The ability to strip out noise from a microphone.
Noise torch and Cadmus offer partial solutions.
OBS has built in noise gate and limited noise reduction
None come close to the reafir plugin.
The solution was to use carla + win64 bridge to use the free windows reafir plugin in carla
then route it through jack using Qjackctl.
Then putting it into OBS.
The results are IMHO worth the effort.
solved the issue of system monitoring by playing with jack connect linkages.
