No sign of snow yet - Alpine passes facing winter closure 🚧
Our Alpine passes are about to close for the winter. But there's no sign of winter or snow yet, not even in the high Alps. Plenty of sunshine and mild autumn weather. Nevertheless, the road maintenance crews have to prepare the passes for their winter closure. This involves painstakingly dismantling many kilometers of guardrails and all the signs, as avalanches could destroy these structures over the winter. Marco and David accompanied the road maintenance crew on the Gotthard Pass in glorious weather.
