Welcome to the second session of the AutoCAD tutorial with Card Skills! Building on the fundamentals of Line, Polyline, Ortho, and Polar tracking, this video dives into crucial drafting techniques and precision tools.
In this session, you will learn how to use six different circle commands, including Center Radius, Center Diameter, Two Points, Three Points, Tangent Tangent Radius (TTR), and Tangent Tangent Tangent (TTT). We demonstrate in which situations these various circle methods are useful.
The tutorial also introduces the essential Object Snap (O snap) feature, showing you how to turn it on, select specific snap points (like end point, center, and geometric center), and utilize it to accurately track points on your geometry. This ensures lines and shapes, such as rectangles drawn with Polyline, are perfectly closed.
Finally, we cover setting up accurate engineering dimensions. Learn how to type the unit command to change the display from decimal to engineering (using inches). We also show you how to use the dim style command to modify the dimension style, change the primary unit to engineering, and increase the dimension text size for better visibility. We conclude by demonstrating how to use the Annotate tools to check the radius and diameter of your drawn circles.
Stay tuned for the next session, where we will draw a mechanical object and learn about modify tools and layers in AutoCAD
