In this video, I share my real-world perspective on DJI travel drones and explain why, even today, the DJI Mini 3 Pro remains a highly relevant option for travel photography.
There's a lot of talk about the DJI Mini 5 Pro, its improved specs, new sensors, and capabilities. But if you look beyond the numbers and into real-world travel scenarios, it seems like most of the new features aren't all that relevant.
For travel, the DJI Mini 3 Pro still covers almost all requirements:
in good weather, the image quality is excellent.
In my experience, in bad weather, the drone almost never launches.
If you need a drone for active use—frequent filming, regular outings, video production—then the DJI Mini 5 Pro really makes sense. It offers more options and greater comfort in challenging conditions.
But if you travel less often, and you want a drone more for yourself, to capture the memories and atmosphere of your trips, then paying extra doesn't make much sense. In this case, the DJI Mini 3 Pro, even if purchased second-hand, will still be a joy to use and fulfill all your travel needs.
