After gettting some advice from @AceConsoleRepairs on pre-loading the bottom pads with leaded solder, these became a lot easier.
It might be tricky to see, but as I go along from left to right, you can see the pads are loaded with solder and as I push in each leg it wicks up off the pad.
Using this method I didn't need to apply any extra solder to the tip of the iron.
Using a Hakko FX-951 with a BCM2 tip set to 400 degrees.
