Ayman was a young real estate agent in Damascus. He had to leave Syria in 2011 after participating in the pro-reform demonstrations. Ayman was wanted by the police. He and his family feared he would be arrested or killed.
Ayman fled alone first to Saudi Arabia and then to Jordan. Life in Jordan, which is hosting over 500,000 refugees from Syria, was very tough. He had to pay €9,000 for a visa to travel to Europe. Ayman is now trying to rebuild his life in France, far from his family.
