In this lecture, we will discuss the concept of memory allocation in both C and C++ programming languages. We will start by discussing the malloc function in C which is used to dynamically allocate memory during program execution. We will learn how to use the malloc function to allocate memory for variables and arrays.
We will then move on to discuss the calloc function which is also used for dynamic memory allocation in C. We will learn how to use the calloc function to allocate memory for variables and arrays.
Next, we will learn about the realloc function which is used to resize the previously allocated memory blocks. We will learn how to use the realloc function to change the size of dynamically allocated memory blocks.
Moving forward, we will discuss the memory allocation in C++ using the new and delete operators. We will learn how to use the new operator to allocate memory for objects and how to use the delete operator to deallocate memory.
Finally, we will discuss the concept of memory leak and how it can occur in programs. We will learn how to detect memory leaks and how to fix them using appropriate methods.
Throughout the lecture, we will use various examples to illustrate the concepts of memory allocation, and we will also cover various messages and methods used in memory allocation.
