In this video we will discuss What Is An ATtiny 85 & How To Program It With Your Arduino Uno. If you only need a few inputs or outputs in your lighting project, the ATtiny 85 will be an excellent choice for you.
This 8 pin IC is manufactured by Atmel, the same company that makes the chip for the Arduino products. This is a small component with 5 inputs/outputs with 2 PWM pins. It's very easy to program with your Arduino Uno set up as an ISP with only 6 wires connected between the two devices.
This device can also be easily programmed with the Sparkfun AVR Programmer which can be purchased through my Amazon Page or SparkFun. Either way, you can have a low cost very small component for your smaller projects.
