As Germany shut down its last 3 nuclear power plants, Dr. Paul Dorfman declared "Au revoir German nuclear, and good riddance."
Mark Nelson fought to save the 3 plants, and continues to fight to see them restarted.
Mark and Paul faced off on AlJazeera's "Inside Story" in a piece called "Why has Germany shut down its nuclear plants?" https://www.aljazeera.com/program/ins...
Mark Nelson:
Turning off these nuclear power plants is a bad decision and it's out of step with Germany's trading partners and allies, not just in Europe, but around the world. It's a small nation's worth of energy that's being turned off today. Energy that could power tens of millions of people in developing countries or 5 million Germans. It's the cheapest energy Germany's got. So it's a fairly catastrophic decision, especially considering this energy works around the clock all year, not just when the weather is right.
