CSAFE is a breakthrough medical device created to prevent accidental lacerations to the baby during C-section. It is engineered to safely open a uterus while providing maximum protection for the baby. This device is ergonomically designed to easily fit the surgeon's hand. The tip has been expressly designed to puncture the uterus wall but not penetrate the baby's skin. If the uterine wall is thin, the tip will easily puncture through it, once the tip punctures the uterus, by rocking the wrist back the tip and blade move up and away from the baby. With the device in a rocked back position continue the incision transversely. If the uterine wall is unlabored and thick, the surgeon can make several CSAFE passes transversely, till they can safely puncture into the cavity. For added safety once the CSAFE enters the uterus, a finger can be placed under the device to prevent anything from coming in contact with the tip and blade. With your finger guiding the device, continue the incision transversely. CSAFE provides the utmost confidence for the surgeon and the needed safety for the baby during this critical moment of delivery.
