How to start slowly and smoothly on an incline?
Many of us think that if we accelerate too much, we'll get going too fast, but that's not the case... the real key in this situation lies in the clutch pedal. If we release it subtly in the last part of its travel, we'll have a controlled and smooth start.
There's no ideal RPM for starting; it depends on the incline. Sometimes, simply raising the RPMs to around 2,000 or 2,500 is enough. After that, release the clutch pedal normally, and in the last third of the descent, slow down and release the clutch more subtly.
For this, we can use the handbrake. This will help prevent the car from rolling backward, because when the car rolls backward, it's a nightmare, and you could even stall the car by releasing or trying to release the clutch too quickly to start moving.
