DNS and DHCP
DNS: Domain Name Service, a standardized method of resolving hostname to IP addresses.
DHCP: Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol, a way of assigning IP addresses to hosts at boot time, instead of configuring each host individually.
Learning Ubuntu Linux Server 12.04
This course is based on Ubuntu sever 12.04, which you can download for free from http://ubuntu.com/server.
If you're just starting out, you may also want to download Virtual Box, a free desktop virtualization suite
from oracle. That way, you won't need to install Ubuntu on your PC. Download Ubuntu Server from their website
and get VirtualBox ready to go. I'm going to jump directly into the installer.
In the spirit of Linux, this entire course is going to have heaps of text. Watch through an entire segment
before you try to follow along and things will make more sense. Enjoy yourself, and thanks for watching.
