Holambra is a Brazilian municipality in the state of São Paulo and micro-region of Campinas City, founded on July 14, 1948. Its name, a combination of Holanda (Netherlands in portuguese), America and Brasil, is due to the Dutch colony that was established on the former Ribeirão farm. The city stands out for having the 61st quality of life index in Brazil and for having the best safety index in the country. With skilled labor in the agricultural sector, the municipality stands out as the largest center for the production of flowers and ornamental plants in Latin America. Holambra is officially considered a tourist resort and annually promotes the largest flower exhibition in Latin America: Expoflora.
