Why YouTube Click Through Rate is a LIE!
What is a good Click Through Rate on YouTube? Everybody says HIGHER, I say LOWER!!
There is a BIG problem Click Through Rate that nobody tells you (or knows).
In this video: CTR EXPLAINED!!
Most YouTubers think that CTR is the best way to compare videos attractiveness for the viewer.
After all a 5% CTR is better than a 4% CTR, because more people click on your video, right?
BUT THAT IS NOT THE CASE!!
I’d rather have a lower click-through rate than a higher click through rate (4% CTR over a 5%).
The number in percentages doesn’t say anything useful, because this number extremely relative.
Comparing Click Through Rates is like comparing apples with oranges.
Here’s why:
1. CTR fluctuates all the time / higher is not always better
2. Viewers might just not be interested in a topic.
3. Impression is not always an impression
4. CTR is highly dependent on the audience
5. CTR is also relative to the your competition
6. CTR % change over time on a video
7. CTR depends highly on traffic sources
I’m not understating the importance of Click Through Rates for the YouTube algorithm, because it is one of the key metrics that the YouTube algorithm uses to promote your video over another.
