I was questing and this guy is lobbying on an NPC and killing all players getting near. He actually killed me but I returned and tried to kill him instead. There is this random guy that helped me along the way.
The PVP in FKO is very unique. You have many options to choose from. You can PVP normally just like in any other game by arranging a PVP it can be 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4 and so on. It can also be a random PVP brawl in the arena or it could be my favorite: Player Killing anywhere except Towns and Fishing/Woodcutting spots.
Many players in CBT are petitioning to have a non global-pk server or channel but in my opinion, that would kill the uniqueness of the game. The fun thing about global PK is the vengeance part. Calling your friends or guildmates to hunt down your killer is satisfying. The downside is, you can be questing or killing monsters when a person or a group of players kill you on the spot. They could lobby on that same area or NPC and you will have problem completing the quest or getting one.
However, if such circumstance happen to me, I can always press I or O to look at the available instance dungeons wherein, I can pass the time doing mini games or better yet, I can go to the alliance fortress to check on the plants I farmed or play alliance mini games. There are many things to do in this game and grinding is really the least of your priority.
Players who are fond of PKing will have some serious fun as well as consequences. Once they started attacking someone, their names will turn red and for every kill, they will get a skull on their names. They will be repairing more frequently as their equipments are more damaged easily thereby losing gold in return. They will also get less EXP from monsters whenever they are murderers. Not to mention everyone are free to attack them without any repercussions.
