The X-Com Files (Veteran/Stream) — Part 1 - So It Begins
Welcome to the X-Com Files mod for OpenXcom! This is a total conversion mod that follows a similar path as the original X-Com: UFO Defense, but is greatly expanded with new factions, new missions, and a vast array of new equipment and mechanics. The premise starts with an X-Files-like paranormal investigation unit that slowly builds up to the original game's X-Com mission. This is a casual playthrough on veteran, and due to the increased difficulty of this mod and the use of named soldiers who take a very long time to build up, reloading will be happening, frequently at times. These episodes will encompass whole missions, so no mission will be broken up in the middle.
