Typography Design in Canva | Master Custard & Grass Text Effects
In this Canva tutorial, I’ll show you how to create creative typography designs in Canva using AI-generated text effects — including custard melt text and grass lettering. These techniques are perfect for posters, thumbnails, social graphics, and bold typography projects.
First, I type the word “custard” and ask Canva to generate a melt-style text effect based on the yellow colour of the word. Canva creates the design, which I place onto the canvas. I then remove the background and make additional adjustments to refine the effect.
Next, I demonstrate a second method by going to Elements and typing:
“Create the word ‘grass’ in a grass text effect.”
Canva generates four design options. I choose the one I like best, add it to the canvas, and remove the background so it can be placed on any design.
