We discussed the theory of Wilhelmy method for measuring surface tension force, which allows the calculation of perimeter, surface tension, or contact angle, if we we given two of them. We also discussed the critical surface tension of a low-energy solid, which can be determined using the Zisman plot by measuring contact angle between the solid of interest and probe liquids of varying surface tensions.
