Fallout 76: Even Ghouls Cry When The Prime Radscorpion Teleports...
With the new "Blood x Rust" season dropping today (November 20, 2025!), I decided to jump back into the wasteland with my Ghoul build to sharpen my skills. I thought having radiation immunity and those sweet Ghoul-exclusive perks would save me. I was wrong.
In this clip from my latest livestream, you'll see me absolutely fighting for my life against two of the most annoying enemies in Fallout 76 history: the Mirelurk Deep King and the infamous, physics-defying Prime Radscorpion.
The Lore Behind The Chaos
Since we love lore on this channel, let's break down what just killed me:
Mirelurk Deep Kings: Unlike other Mirelurks, these aren't mutated crabs. They are actually mutated frogs or snapping turtles (the lore is debated!), but their design is heavily inspired by the "Deep Ones" from H.P. Lovecraft's The Shadow Over Innsmouth. They rule over the Mirelurk hives using sonic blasts that bypass armor—which is why my health bar melted so fast despite my build.
Prime Radscorpions: descended from the Emperor Scorpion, these massive arachnids were mutated by the Great War. In Fallout 76, they are notorious for their "burrowing" mechanic, which often glitches and acts more like instant teleportation. You can actually see in the clip where he disappears and instantly reappears behind me for the kill shot.
Why My Ghoul Build Struggled
I play a non-bloody Ghoul build (I've never liked the Bloody playstyle!). While the Ghoul update from March gave us incredible survivability against radiation—literally healing from it—it doesn't stop a giant scorpion stinger from piercing your chest! I tried to use the chaotic melee combat to my advantage, but when you get cornered by a Deep King's sonic scream AND a teleporting scorpion, even the best "Glow of the Ghoul" perks can't save you.
Key Takeaways from this Stream:
Don't Panic: I definitely panicked.
Target the Legs: For Radscorpions, crippling the legs is the only way to stop the burrowing/teleporting nightmare.
Watch the Head: The Mirelurk King is weak in the head, but good luck hitting it while it's screaming at you.
If you are excited for the new Blood x Rust season starting today, let me know in the comments! I'll be streaming the new content all week.
