Microsoft Hyper-V has a lot of myths around it and one of the biggest is how to deploy it. Stemming from beliefs that it is often a Type 2 hypervisor, that it is polymorphic, that it is tied to Windows or that it just must not be free, a lot of people think that Hyper-V is just a role on Windows.
