2023 Nissan SERENA - All You Need to Know / All-New Nissan SERENA 2023 / 日産セレナ 2023

Nissan has announced the release of the completely redesigned Serena in Japan. Sales of gasoline-powered vehicles will begin this winter, with e-POWER vehicles following in the spring 2023.

Since its inception in 1991, the Serena has remained in close contact with the evolving forms and needs of families. The all-new Serena is equipped with spacious seating, convenient utilities, and the most cutting-edge technologies.

The Serena features the second-generation e-POWER system, which is now equipped with an all-new, specially developed 1.4 L engine. The system provides more powerful and smooth acceleration with less engine noise.

The Pro PILOT 2.0 advanced driver assistance system is available on the highest e-POWER grade, the Luxion, and is the first time in Japan that such a system that enables hands-free driving (in a single lane on a highway at speeds of 40 km/h or higher) has been adopted in a minivan. Pro PILOT is now the standard for all other grades. This driver assistance technology aids in the reduction of driver fatigue during long road trips.

The Luxion has Pro PILOT Park with memory, which records and recognizes parking space lines, making it the first Nissan vehicle to have this technology. Pro PILOT Remote Park is also available at the Luxion.

The Serena is equipped with the second-generation e-POWER system, which includes an all-new, specially developed 1.4 L engine. The system provides more powerful and smooth acceleration while producing less engine noise.

The Serena also has world-first energy management technology that regulates when the engine turns on and off based on vehicle speed, traffic conditions, and the navigation system. Engine operation is reduced, which contributes to a quieter cabin. Improved insulation contributes to a quieter cabin, allowing for easy conversation even for rear-seat passengers.

A scientific approach to reducing motion sickness

Various design and packaging approaches have been used to reduce motion sickness. These are some examples:

A broad, open view from inside the vehicle and optimal display monitor placement
A brand-new seat design that reduces occupant movement.
A steering wheel with a high degree of rigidity improves handling stability.
A vehicle structure that deflects crosswinds and reduces shakiness when travelling at high speeds.

The second-generation e-POWER system and tighter suspension allow for more fluid vehicle movement.

The e-Pedal Step allows the driver to control vehicle speed by simply pressing the accelerator.

A welcoming design with high quality and a sense of innovation:
The exterior design has been updated with a modern twist. The exterior design of the Luxion and Highway Star grades is finished to evoke the vehicle's dynamic and powerful performance. All of the lamps are now LED.

The interior has received special attention: the windshield is the widest in the minivan category on the market.

The all-new Serena features a switch-type shift for smart looks and ease-of-use, a first for Nissan, and water-repellent seat material, a family-friendly feature. There are 14 body colors to choose from, including four two-tone combinations.

Family-friendly features:
The most spacious cabin in the minivan category allows passengers to stretch out and unwind. Driver legroom has been increased by 120 mm over the previous generation. The vehicle can carry seven or eight passengers thanks to a multi-purpose center seat in the second row.

Even in small parking spaces, the dual rear door allows for easy loading and unloading. Only the small back door at the top can be used when necessary. The side passenger door has a hands-free, auto-open feature.

Pockets for smartphones and wallets are now available in every seat. Other useful features include 500 ml cardboard carton holders, USB ports, onboard Wi-Fi, and a pre-cooling air conditioning system.
