Thomas Blanchard is a French video artist fascinated with microphotography. His latest video is a collaboration with musician Sebastien Guérive whose track "Bellatrix" accompanies the short film, documenting the reaction when chemical drops land into hot water and are then subsequently cooled.
The sudden change in temperature causes the substance to crystalise, sending out beautiful spikes of ice from a central point.
